Dental implants are an ideal treatment option for the replacement of missing teeth. A titanium post (implant) is inserted into the bone at site of missing tooth. This implant replaces the roots of the missing teeth.
At the interface between the implant and the surrounding bone, a process called osseointegration occurs where the bone fuses to the implant thereby stabilising it. A lifelike crown is then screwed or cemented onto the implant thus replacing the missing tooth.
